Deliverables
48-page annual report (print and digital), mailing envelope, 7 social assets, Class of 2025 insert, and addendum
Overview
A special edition annual report celebrating Achievement First’s 25th anniversary and giving voice to students, families, and communities across New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Led the project from start to finish, applying the AF25 brand identity across a 48-page layout and owning photography selection, print production, and social rollout assets. Delivered to the CEO, board, senior stakeholders, and the wider AF community of families, educators, and funders.
The Challenge
A 25th anniversary deserved more than a standard annual report. The design had to honor personal stories, celebrate 25 years of impact, and open a new strategic chapter. A clear audience hierarchy guided every editorial and design choice, with board members and funders as primary readers and staff and families as secondary. Copy, photography, and stakeholder feedback all moved in parallel on a compressed timeline.
Key Design Decisions
AF25 in editorial form. Adapted the AF25 mark, graphic elements, and expanded color treatment into a 48-page publication while keeping it cohesive with the broader anniversary campaign.
Authentic photography. Chose real photos of the communities AF serves, along with archival images honoring its history, over stock or staged photography. For a publication going to families, board members, and funders, authenticity was the only credible choice.
Modular social system. Built every social asset on a shared structure while letting each one work on its own. Standalone posts would have worked individually but built no cumulative identity, while the modular system makes the campaign feel intentional across the whole feed.
Outcome
Published the 48-page special edition report on achievementfirst.org and Issuu.
Delivered 6 pieces in total, from the print and digital reports to the mailing envelope, social campaign assets, Class of 2025 insert, and addendum.
Distributed to the CEO, C-suite, board members, donors, and all staff, and used as marketing material for recruitment and events.
